NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY
FULL-TIME CALENDAR YEAR POSITION

POSITION: Internship & Career Advisor
DEPARTMENT: Career Services
DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Director of Career Services, this position is responsible for coordinating the University’s internship opportunities and advising students and alumni on career-related issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conducts outreach to companies and organizations to develop new internship opportunities.
• Collaborates with Alumni Relations to cultivate alumni to serve as internship sponsors.
• Serves as liaison to academic departments, faculty, administrators, and internship participants.
• Prepares, coaches, and counsels students on internship opportunities, including assistance with resume/cover letter writing and interview preparation.
• Responds to site requests for interns and posts position listings.
• Develops and maintains database of internship sites and records of placements.
• Maintains, updates and distributes internship documentation.
• Collects, analyzes and prepares internship statistics and assessments, as required.
• Develops promotion strategies for the internship program to increase student participation.
• As requested, performs in-class presentations on career and internship-related topics.
• Meets individually with students and alumni to provide comprehensive career advising.
• Participates in the planning and coordination of annual career fair, student orientation and other special events.

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree required. 2+ years of related experience preferred.
• Demonstrated success in developing and implementing effective relationships with students, employers, faculty and/or alumni.
• Knowledge of the creative job market (especially in visual arts and media), particularly in the Philadelphia region.
• Familiarity with business, employment and non-profit practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with the use of online resources.
• Experience in making presentations to students, prospective employers and faculty.
• High energy, self-starter with ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Willingness to occasionally travel to employer site visits and conferences.

SALARY: $30,000
