Full Time Sculptor

+ JOB DESCRIPTION

Looking for experienced sculptor with knowledge of the human body who is able to render figurative sculptures with meticulous detail. He or she should be able to do all types of casting, and mold-making from life and from
objects. The candidate should have knowledge tools and carpentry. They should have experience using silicones, plaster, plaster bandages, resins, latex, and other sculpture materials. They must be able to work in a fabrication studio where dust and fumes exist. They must be able to sculpt castings working with magnifying lenses if necessary, and be able to see finite blemishes smoothing out rough edges and replacing missing anatomy from the castings. They should be a person that can work both alone, and with other assistants. They must be good at communicating, organizing, and ordering supplies. They would need to have experience in chasing in resin, plaster, foam and wax and to be able to do the work necessary to create realistic figurative sculptures from start to finish. Must have knowledge of materials such as silicones, alginates, latex, resins, wax, epoxies, and other sculpting materials. The ideal applicant should be able to do the hanging and fabrication of hanging materials and problem solving associated with the artworks. Should be able to work with deadlines and willing to work overtime when necessary. He should have knowledge of spraying, painting, patinas, laminates, and sealers and other finishes. The assistant will be responsible to keep the fabrication room neat, clean and organized.

+ TIME COMMITMENT: Full time, Monday-Friday. 9:30 am-6pm. , (Overtime when necessary)
