Expressive Therapies Summit

For those of you who are interested in working with children, please see info below from Frances Smokowski, MFA 2010:

One of the top experts on abuse and trauma in children, Eliana Gil, will be in NY doing special workshops in November. Anyone interested in working with children should seriously look into attending this to experience best practice info in action, assess the scope/type of knowledge necessary work as a creative arts therapist and also to see what such work involves emotionally.

In short, this summit is a great chance for in-depth with expressive therapy experience that can be of use immediately while investigating if expressive therapies might be a career path.

Even if you’re working with regular classrooms, a percentage of the children may be affected by abuse, knowing of it, or haven’t yet reported it.

This is a special opportunity to learn from and observe a tremendous leader in the field. Her books would benefit anyone considering working as a teacher, especially with inner city, or at-risk kids.

For more information people can use this link www.summit.expressivemedia.org
or contact the event producer, Barry Cohen <barrymcohen@me.com>

I’ll be presenting more at the Academy’s Career Day regarding the summit.
Best wishes,
Frances
