Art and Culture Program Associate needed
Skills Required
Ability to organize and produce art, entrepreneurship and community
events
Understanding of civic engagement and its importance to community
development.
Ability to build relationships and enthusiasm for collaborative events
Understanding of strategic and business planning
Event Fundraising
Responsibilities
Work with Arts & Culture Coordinator to:
Organize and produce four arts and community events at the Renaissance
Arts & Entrepreneurship Center during year 1 of the project.
Work with Arts & Entrepreneurship Working Group and draw upon the
resources they can provide.
Help build on Arts & Entrepreneurship Activities to create a community
center
Use the center as a means to infuse art in the work of the St. Nicholas
Neighborhood Preservation Corporation and the greater
Williamsburg/Greenpoint community.
Coordinate St. Nick’s organization wide civic engagement strategy
Work with St. Nick’s staff and A&E Working Group to develop a strategic
and business plan for the Arts &Entrepreneurship Center.
Assist in fundraising for the Arts &Entrepreneurship Center.
Schedule the Renaissance public space for program events and activities.
Education Required
College or Masters Degree in City Planning, Arts, Community Development
plus relevant experience.
Compensation
$18-20/hour, 15-20 hours/week as an independent contractor, flexible
hours
