TheGreatNude Invitational 2010Dear Artist, Throughout history, artists have used the nude figure to communicate everything from our most mundane human nature to the very meaning and purpose of our existence. Many of Western Art’s most revered artists used the nude figure as powerful social commentary, or as an agent of social change. The nude figure in art has always been a symbolic vessel for our sense of self. And while each generation experiences the nude figure on it’s own terms, it is the vision of humanity projected by the artist that we ultimately seek. TheGreatNude Invitational 2010 is an annual art fair/exhibition of the traditional and contemporary figurative arts, featuring international, established and emerging artists in all styles and media. The 20-30 artists will present their own works as solo exhibitions inside the luxurious rooms of the Roger Smith Hotel. In addition to the exhibits, there will be a series of morning discussion panels on the role of the figurative artist and the use of the figure in historical and contemporary contexts. In the evening there will be live drawing parties where many of the exhibiting artists will be drawing from live models, with the art works created raffled off for a benefiting organization to be announced. We are now seeking artists to exhibit at this event. Thank you. Jeffrey Wiener 182 East 95th Street, #5G Elvin R. Freytes
