Excalibur Bronze Foundry - SPECIAL EVENT! Excalibur Bronze Foundry has a very unique opportunity for artists right now and I wanted to personally extend it to everyone at the Academy. At our Group Sculpture Exhibition Opening Party & Candlelight Bronze Pour on May 1 (I hope all of you will be able to come!), artists will have a chance to watch a bronze pour, see the 2010 exhibition, and sign up for the Excalibur Sterling Medallion Foundry Club to earn a 20% discount on bronze casting. We are extending this offer to our guests, especially geared towards a handful of sculpture-oriented organizations in NYC where we know artists will be excited to take advantage of it. The first 25 Sculpture 2010 guests who sign up for it in person at the opening on May 1 will receive a card from an Excalibur Representative and become eligible for their single use club discount good throughout 2010, effective immediately. Established in 1967 as a small metal shop catering to artists in Manhattan’s West Village, Excalibur has since developed into a full-service fine art foundry with clients around the world. We recently invited sculptors to submit their best work for the 1st Annual Excalibur Sculpture Foundry Group Show. This juried international competition was open to both emerging and established artists. The winning sculptors are John Balsamo, Stephanie Borgese, Juliana De Cerqueira Leite, Fitzhugh Karol, Eliot Lable, Jeremy Leichman, Glenn Marlowe, Alexandra Martin, Jeffrey Meizlik, Peter S. Muehlhaeusser, Tatyana Murray, Mark Porter, Pamela Sunday, Francine Tint. These 14 sculptors will have their work featured in the two week show at the Foundry’s Gallery & Atelier along with a special selection of the Excalibur Sculpture Foundry Artist’s work. The Excalibur Sculpture Foundry Artists are Ebitenyefa Baralaye, Joan Benefiel, Joshua D. Gold, Dean Hamerly, Francis Xavier King III, Richard Manzanares and Kimber Sokolik. One of the 14 guest sculptors will be selected as the Grand Prize winner to be announced at the opening and will receive a $2,500 credit for Excalibur bronze casting services. Guests will also have the rare opportunity to witness firsthand the ancient art of lost wax casting 2,000 degree bronze during the Candlelight Bronze Pour scheduled for 7 PM. For the first time, Excalibur will open its doors to New York City at night to pour bronze. Donning fire suits and full foundry gear, a team of Excalibur Artisans will show guests exactly how a red hot glowing crucible full of molten bronze becomes the famed sculpture and decorative metalwork that Excalibur is known for. We hope you’ll join us. We look forward to sharing this very special evening with you. Sincerely, Joan Benefiel, Director http://excaliburbronzeny.com/page20.php Attachments: |
