HOUSING / STUDIOS

New York City, one of the world’s great art capitals, promises an endless stream of inspiring places, people, events and stories for artists. No other city offers as many renowned galleries and museums, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Academy has permission to conduct painting classes. Students of the Academy, coming from all over the world, find their own niche here.

If you’re looking for housing in New York City, remember that Manhattan is just the beginning. Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and New Jersey each have their own, unique neighborhoods and lifestyles to offer. Manhattan is the borough most associate with “the city.” Most affordable housing can be found in the other four boroughs as well as New Jersey (Jersey City or Hoboken). The Academy is located in Tribeca, a neighborhood located in lower west Manhattan.

If you would like to place an ad, please email a description and images (optional) to    ntimmons@nyaa.edu.

If you can provide permanent or temporary housing be sure to let me know.

TWO Sunny Window Spaces available in Bedstuy Collective

We have TWO large semi-private window spaces available in a studio collective (Vega Collective). They are semi-private spaces in a larger 1000 sq ft room which is split amongst five other professional artists. The working environment is very pleasant, industrious, and quiet. The entire room gets ample amounts of natural light due to the two window spaces and overhead lighting. These particular window spaces have the best light due to one of the walls being entirely made of windows (new as of 2019!). One wall is 15’x15’ and the other wall is 8’x8’. One space has custom built lofted storage, while the other has a custom built wall storage.
