HOUSING / STUDIOS

New York City, one of the world’s great art capitals, promises an endless stream of inspiring places, people, events and stories for artists. No other city offers as many renowned galleries and museums, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the Academy has permission to conduct painting classes. Students of the Academy, coming from all over the world, find their own niche here.

If you’re looking for housing in New York City, remember that Manhattan is just the beginning. Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, Staten Island, and New Jersey each have their own, unique neighborhoods and lifestyles to offer. Manhattan is the borough most associate with “the city.” Most affordable housing can be found in the other four boroughs as well as New Jersey (Jersey City or Hoboken). The Academy is located in Tribeca, a neighborhood located in lower west Manhattan.

Apartment for Rent | Dena Sturm

Large East Village 1BR Apartment – $2,100. – Avail. Jan. 1, 2021
- Walkable to NYAA
- Located on a tree-lined street in the heart of the East Village (b/w First and Second Aves.)
- Steps away from restaurants, bars, shops, Farmer’s Market and Tompkins Square Park
- One of the nicest blocks in the neighborhood, with so much to offer right outside your door!
It’s a gem of an apartment with actual space and true rooms in an amazing neighborhood for a good price. The apartment is quiet, cozy and clean -- and you must be, too. Six windows provide tons of light and breeze. There’s a bedroom, eat-in kitchen, living room with French doors, and a bathroom with full tub/shower. Furniture is included: a FULL-sized bed mattress; a bedroom closet with storage; a futon couch and coffee table in the living room; and a small dining table w/cafe chairs. There’s also some dishes and cookware. It's a five flight walk up - but your glutes will thank you. Some call it their “in-building gym”. Also, incredibly quiet with no upstairs neighbors.
There is a second bedroom (in the back) I use as a storage space. The extra room gives the apartment character and the apartment feels airy and bigger than a typical NYC one bedroom.

The current tenant has been out of the state for the last two months so the space is perfectly safe.
