My art is an exploration of the beautiful mundane -- radiant during the day and illuminated at night. My paintings celebrate the overlooked beauty of South Texas. I'm inspired by the landscapes we glimpse driving 80 miles an hour on the highway and the neighborhoods we drive through thoughtlessly on our way to work. I find joy in the overwhelming color of grasses and the glow of streetlights. I love nature that rarely sees a human and the communities that we built together. The paintings create nostalgia and pride for anyone who lives in South Texas, and for everyone else they offer the sensation of déjà vu for those moments in life we forget to savor.
