Crit Nite is a good time to connect with other Academy Alums, get your work in front of critics to get feedback, and share ideas. We host Crit Nite three times per year: Winter, Spring, Autumn. Join in - the more participants and contributing voices, the better!

GUEST CRITIC: Patricia Watwood

Patricia Watwood (NYAA MFA 1999) is a leading figure in the contemporary figurative realist movement, known for her classical paintings, drawings and portraits in oil. Her narrative subjects are primarily women with themes of allegory, myth and archetype. Her portrait of Ida B. Wells was commissioned by the Kennedy School at Harvard. Watwood has been exhibited at the Beijing World Art Museum, The European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM), The Butler Museum, and is in the collections of The St. Louis University Museum of Art, and The New Britain Museum of American Art. She is the First Vice President of the Salmagundi Club of New York. Her first book, The Path of Drawing, is coming out with Monacelli Studio Press in late 2022.

• The file names must be as follows: LastName_FirstName_TitleOfWork.jpg.
• Please make sure that images are in focus and no smaller than 72 DPI / 1080 pixels wide, with a file size no larger than 5 MB.
• The DEADLINE to SUBMIT is May 12th, 11:59pm ET.
• Spaces are first come, first serve, but with preference given to artists who have not yet presented in the last year.
