Jennifer Saftler creates oil paintings, miniatures, and dioramas that explore the intensity of emotion alongside moments of lightness and whimsy. Her work invites viewers into narratives that reflect the weight of sorrow, the flicker of hope, and the humor found in everyday life. With a background in illustration, web design, and freelance work, she brings a layered approach to storytelling. Saftler holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from the New York Academy of Art, and works from her studio in Long Island City, New York, when not teaching art to small children.
