My work is narrative and figurative, rooted in the practice of seeing and the act of empathy. Each drawing begins with the quiet discipline of observation—looking closely at another human being, listening to their story, and translating that encounter into line and form. Through the physical act of mark-making, I search for a psychological understanding of others: a way to connect across difference, to honor individuality, and to glimpse what is shared beneath the surface.

Drawing is, for me, a devotional act. Through sustained attention, I try to reveal what I can only describe as the divine spark within each person—the near-universal glow that flickers through gesture, expression, and presence. Even in moments of vulnerability or ambiguity, I find beauty and strength in this light.

This process continually renews my faith in human goodness. In a time marked by disconnection and conflict, I believe that seeing one another fully—and rendering that vision with care—can be a quiet act of resistance. My portraits are not only likenesses, but records of that faith: the belief that humanity, despite its shadows, carries within it the capacity to transcend and fulfill its potential for good.
