French-American artist Juliette Vaissière's work is inspired by historical Europe, modern social tropes, and the magic of fairytales. She is fascinated by the precious and beautiful objects people collect to make concrete an ever-illusive “ideal” environment. Her work often references the visual excesses of the Baroque and Rococo periods as a means of processing and understanding modern-day consumerism.
