ShinYoung came from South Korea and obtained my B.F.A. there. Her work has been shown at numerous exhibitions throughout the U.S., Italy, Spain, Japan, and South Korea since I arrived in the U.S. in 1995, including The Newark Museum of Art and the New Jersey State Museum. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, she had opportunities to lecture, demonstrate, and make critiques, including at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC, in 2019. She has received 32 awards, including a 2011 New Jersey State Council on the Arts fellowship grant. Her work has been reviewed and published in over 50 critical articles worldwide.
