I am trying to convey messages through my recent artwork. As we can see and create the future through learning from the past, time will judge the truth of what we believe to be true.

I am a Korean-American, born and obtained my B.F.A. in South Korea. I came to the U.S. to further my studies in 1995 and joined the Art Students League of New York in 1996. In 2001, I received my M.F.A. from the New York Academy of Art. While traveling with a Xavier Gonzalez & Edward grant from the Art Students League of New York, I joined the Cercle Artistic de Sant Lluc in Barcelona, Spain, in 2003.

Over the years, I have received 33 awards in painting, including the 2024 and 2011 individual fellowship grants from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts in partnership with Mid-Atlantic Arts, Best of Show 2004 from the Heartland Exhibition in Merriam, Kansas, and the Len G. Everett Memorial Award for the Advancement of American Art from Allied Artists of America in 2002 & 2008, etc.

My art has been shown at selected and invited exhibitions, mostly in public spaces, in over 120 groups, nine solo, and two two-person exhibitions throughout the U.S., Italy, Spain, Japan, and South Korea. My artwork has been featured in over 50 critical articles globally, including some of my Face series, titled "Winds of Hope," which was featured in Creator.VICE in 2017, etc. I was invited to be one of the 100 Greatest Women Artists in 2020 and the figurative artist of New Jersey by "Figure 50," etc.
