Michael Paige Glover grew up in north Alabama, spending much of his childhood outdoors—playing in creeks, riding his BMX bike, and building forts and castles for his Transformers, G.I. Joe, and Star Wars figures. When not exploring the wooded edges of his neighborhood, he could be found in his room, lost in imaginative worlds built from craft supplies his mother provided. Along the way, he befriended a cast of humorous, strange, and colorful neighborhood characters who left lasting impressions. These early experiences sparked his lifelong fascination with storytelling through art.
Glover studied Graphic Design at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, and spent a formative semester abroad in Florence, Italy. Immersed in the art and architecture of Tuscany, he was deeply influenced by Europe’s rich cultural heritage—an experience that helped shape his artistic direction.
After earning his B.S., Glover went on to complete an MFA in Figurative Painting at the New York Academy of Art. His time there led to opportunities such as a residency at the Vermont Studio Center and a decade in Brooklyn, where he maintained a studio, exhibited in group shows, and steadily built his body of work.
Over the years, his passion for painting and drawing has evolved to include a love for pen and ink. Drawn to the world of illustrated novels and sequential storytelling, he creates work that bridges fine art and comics—blending memory, narrative, and imagination. Much of his inspiration continues to come from the people, places, and moments that shaped his early life.
He currently lives in New York’s Hudson Valley, working as a freelance artist/designer and adjunct Art History instructor.
